Abstract: The power electronic devices which are widely used in wind power influx area, especially near the HVDC area, can easily produce a large number of subsynchronous harmonic. According to the subsynchronous oscillation problem that emerged in the wind power integration areas near the ±800 kV HVDC in Hami, Xinjiang, the oscillation features and influence factors are analyzed to propose three measures to monitor, control and prevent subsynchronous oscillation. Experimental results show that the subsynchronous oscillation can be accurately detected by using the monitoring system and effectively prevented by taking the control measures, ensuring stable operation of the power grid.
