Abstract: In recent years, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia have introduced a number of policies to motivate the process of low-carbon energy transformation, which has effectively promoted the development of energy storage. These policies are of certain reference significance to the large-scale development of the energy storage industry in China. This study thoroughly collects and analyzes the energy storage policies of the three countries. The United States and Australia adopt relevant policies regarding financial support, improvement in market mechanisms, and clarification of development goals, while the United Kingdom establishes a developed electricity market to provide an appropriate environment for the development of energy storage. Upon the comparison with policies adopted by China, inspirations and suggestions are proposed on the basis of the energy storage development in China’s new power system.
