Abstract: Off-grid occurred in a wind farm caused by converter fault during field test of the DFIG (doubly feed induction generator) high voltage ride through (HVRT) capabilities. Through an in-depth analysis of the overvoltage of the wind turbine converter, a method was proposed for dynamic adjustment of converter DC bus reference voltage during wind turbine HVRT, which solved the off-grid problem of wind turbines caused by overvoltage protection of converter. Field test verified the effectiveness of the proposed method, which can provide useful experience for improving the wind turbine HVRT capabilities, and a reference for preventing the oscillation of renewable energy DC sending-end power system.
