Abstract: To enrich and develop the theoretical system of the Energy Internet (EI), a four-layer functional architecture of the EI is established in this paper, including a value layer, a business layer, an information layer and an energy layer. The components of each level are analyzed from the operational and functional dimensions, which forms the basic functional architecture of the EI. Then, a scenario analysis is performed on the functional architecture of the EI, with the four-dimensional coordinates of value domain-business domain-information domain-energy domain as the framework and value source-value form- value carrier-value realization as the main line. The functional architecture of the EI is analyzed in detail under four scenarios:transcontinent, nation, city and local.

Key words: Energy Internet, functional architecture, value, scenario analysis
