Design and Implementation of Insulator Resistance Measurement Robot Based on WiFi Wireless Remote Control

Abstract: Insulator resistance measurement is mainly performed by human, which has low efficiency, high risk and intense workload. An insulator resistance measurement robot based on WiFi wireless remote control is designed and implemented in actual engineering project. The robot can be used to measure porcelain insulator resistance of every piece of insulator string on the overhead line. It is suitable for porcelain insulator string arranged in different angles. The whole system consists of three parts, the upper computer-tablet PC, measuring terminal and actuator robot. Engineering practice test shows safe and stable performance of the proposed method. The fast measurement can greatly improve resistance measurement efficiency.
