Power Grid Diagram Automatic Mapping Algorithm for Radial Distribution Feeder

Abstract: Based on the CIM_SVG radial distribution feeder, an automatic mapping algorithm is designed in this paper. Firstly, the feeder branches which belong to different levels are preliminarily arranged in vertical and horizontal direction according to CIM_SVG based data. Then, a lever-to-lever trunk-branch model and corresponding branch-regional model which conform the object oriented programming (OOP) are proposed. By utilizing the proposed models, the extremely asymmetrical branches and the overlap/cross regions in the preliminary mapping are identified and eliminated. Finally, a 10 kV radial distribution feeder is taken for mapping as an example to demonstrate and validate the algorithm. The result shows that the proposed algorithm is able to draw the typical distribution network in a few seconds and can be applied to distribution network visual analysis.
