Abstract: In order to take advantage of the strong transmission capability of the SGCC’s three ±800 kV UHVDC transmission lines to increase the outbound delivery of Sichuan’s seasonal electric energy in flood season and reduce water abandon-related power loss of Sichuan power grid, based on an analysis of the water abandon characteristics of Sichuan grid in flood season and the hydrological output features of hydropower stations, it is proposed in this paper to optimize the transmission curves of three ±800 kV UHVDC power transmission lines and increase the delivery power of Sichuan grid to East China Grid in high flow period. The study shows that it can be realized to increase the delivery output of the Sichuan grid’s seasonal electric energy by 5 500 GW·h through optimizing the 3-circuit UHVDC transmission curves in 2015.
