Abstract: The paper proposes a modelling method of the bundled wind-thermal ultra high voltage (UHV) transmission system. The mathmatical model of the power system is established based on the dynamic power output characteristics at the sending end of the UHV transmission line and power dispaching rules. Then, a paramter tunning method during peak and off-peak month of load at receiving end is also presented based on load characteristics. The proposed modelling method of the bundled wind-thermal UHV transmission system not only provides a valid model in power system simulations, but also can be used to reduce power loss at the receiving end and operational cost of the power system. Simulation results show that the operational efficiency of the power system can be improved, and the wind power curtailment ratio can also be controled properly, when the proposed modelling method is applied in Jiangsu Power Grid.
