Abstract: Aiming at the problem of large main steam pressure fluctuations caused by the burning process lag in the boiler control system of the thermal power generator units, a new boiler control system is proposed. The auto-regressive predictive control algorithm and the burning state observer are used to correct the required fuel volume from the aspects of pressure variations and the burning process, and the corrected signal is introduced into the boiler control system as feedforward to increase the stability of main team pressure control. Using PLC as the central controller, the loading simulation at 5%MCR and 10%MCR is conducted on the APROS simulation model of a 300 MW thermal power unit according to the AGC specifications. The simulation results show that the new boiler control system can not only accelerate the load response speed, but also ensure the better tracking performance of main steam pressure control. It improves the responding capabilities and qualities of AGC and is valuable for practical applications.
