Abstract: Since implementation of the new round of power institutional reform, the pace of power market construction is continuously accelerating. Based on an introduction of electricity direct trading practices within the business region of SGCC in 2016, 4 typical inter-provincial electricity direct trading organized by Beijing Electric Power Trading Center are introduced, which include Yindong electricity direct trading, Zhejiang electricity direct trading, Ximeng-Shandong UHV AC electricity direct trading and Jing(Beijing)-Jin(Tianjin)-Tang(Tangshan) region electricity direct trading. An analysis is made on the existing problems in electricity direct trading organizations in China, including complicated demands of all parties, distempered trading rules, serious inter-provincial barriers and poor market awareness of market players. Finally, some specified recommendations are given on trading rules construction, breaking inter-provincial barriers and strengthening market awareness.
