Overview of Simultaneous Desulfurization, Denitrification and Demercuration Technologies

Abstract: Aiming to reduce the air pollution caused by SO2、NOx and Hg0 coming from coal-fired flue gas, the research and recent progress of some synergetic controlling methods of simultaneous desulfurization, denitrification and demercuration or simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification are introduced, including the technologies of electric beam, non-thermal plasma discharge, photo-catalysis oxidation, flue gas circulation fluidization bed and microwave irradiation. According to the current status of the simultaneous removal technologies, the development of complex absorbents and new-type low-energy reactors should be accelerated so that the technology of controlling multi-component pollutions for coal-fired power plants could be applied and promoted in the future.
