Abstract: Based on a comparative analysis of various conventional deicing methods, a new method, i.e., the thermal live deicing method, that is suitable for substation equipment, is developed. An engineering calculation model is established respectively for three thermal deicing methods, including the hot wind-based deicing method, the hot water-based deicing method and the radiation heat-based deicing method. The deicing efficiency and power consumption of the above-mentioned three methods are analyzed both in theory and test, and the security of living working in the field is verified through theoretical analysis and test validation. The obtained results can provide technical support for practical implementation of the proposed deicing method for living equipment.
