Abstract: Distributed generators in a microgrid and their loads have random characteristics. In order to study the operating perfovmancas of a microgrid, controllers with different control strategies are introduced. For instance, the P/Q control is used to realize the constant outputs of the active and reactive power, and the V/f control with droop characteristics is used to give the frequency and voltage references when in island mode. By using the Matlab/Simulink to built the microgrid simulation platform, the P/Q-V/f control strategy is proposed to realize the comprehensive control of a microgrid with the grid-connected and island operation modes, and switching between the two different modes under different external conditions, which will be the changes of sunshine intensity, wind speed and load, and the performances are simulated, which shows that the new control strategy is feasible and correct.
