Abstract: Iron cores and windings are the key components of power transformers, which are also the causes of transformers vibrations. By loosing a fastening device to stimulate abnormal vibration and installing seven sensors in the internal and external of a transformer to research the differences between internal and external data, a 10 kV transformer defect model was established in a laboratory, which can obtain the best sensor arrangement for measuring transformer vibrations. By studying the vibration laws of cores windings respectively at different no-load voltages and load currents, eventually come the methods for the diagnosis of transformer core and winding looses.
