Abstract: To decrease the extra large amount of desuperheating water in the superheaters and reheaters of the subcritical natural-circulating boiler of the Model DG2070/17.5-Ⅱ6 which severely affects the security and economics of the unit, a feasible plan is put forward based on the analysis on the structural characteristics of the heat recovery surfaces, which includes reducing the heating area of the low-temperature superheaters and the low-temperature reheaters, and increasing the heating area of the economizer adequately. The plan is put into practice at a power plant, which indicates that the amount of the desuperheating water in the superheaters and the reheaters is decreased by a big margin with the security and economics of the boilers being improved.
