Critical Node Identification for Electric Power Communication Network Based on Characteristics of Topology and Services

Abstract: The identification of critical nodes of the power communication network as well as the corresponding protection mechanism have crucial impacts on the system-wide reliability. In this paper, the Node Topology Importance (NTI) is obtained by calculating the rate of natural connectivity of power communication network after one node being destroyed. Then, an evaluation method is proposed according to the requirement of power communication network services. The weighted natural connectivity which fuses the node business information and topology information is defined, accordingly Node Combining Importance (NCI) is proposed to realize the excavation of key node. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified by case studies on a real-world regional power communication network.
