Abstract: On-site partial discharge test of Ultra High Voltage(UHV) converter transformer requires good anti-jamming measurement and response capability due to high test voltage, specific requirement and complex field environment. Under symmetrical voltage applying mode, there is large potential difference at transformer winding terminal. It is also inconvenient to adjust reactor compensation and measure voltage and current. The equivalent method of capacitance network of Ultra High Voltage converter transformer is studied. Based on on-site test results, the simulation is performed and compensation reactor parameters are obtained. This work is supported by National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) (No. 2011CB209404).
