Abstract: Four areas of Gansu Hexi get admits for more than 5 million kilowatts photovoltaic (PV) in 2012, the problems of grid access and consumption for large-scale PV currently become the most important hinder issue to the rapid development of PV. Based on analysis of actual situation of grid load development, grid planning and transportation capacity, this paper proposes a new idea about dispersive access and local consumption between PV constructive capacity and regional new loads, analyzes the power output characteristics of Hexi PV, calculates and analyzes the max PV acceptable space of Jiajiu, Zhangye, Jinchang and Wuwei local grid. The analysis is given on peaking characteristics and peaking program based on PV output and load characteristics.

Key words: PV, power output characteristics, local consumption, ability of peak-load regulation
