Abstract: At present, PDMS or PDS is widely used as the software in designing nuclear power projects. However, since the mechanical module consists of special cohesively-assembled items and its design needs good coordination among designers from different specialties, it is difficult to accomplish all the design work by using PDMS or PDS alone. For this reason, combined with the practical engineering design, the process for designing mechanical module and the advantages of Tekla in steel structure design are analyzed, resulting in that Tekla can be applied to mechanical design step by step in three stages. In-depth study on the working mode of adopting Tekla in module design is also conducted with relevant process schemes proposed, which can be a reference for improving the fitness of steel structure design for other special module design and boosting the working efficiency of module design.
