Abstract: The unstable vibration on the 2nd harmonic has been existing in the pump-motor system, and the way to cool the motor has a significant effect on its vibration characteristics. Therefore, the field testing for this fault has been taken to diagnose and verify the failure of dynamic mirror plate warping of the motor under certain conditions. The analysis on the mechanism of the mirror warping failure concludes that it is the axial misalignment that leads to double frequency vibration. The concentration of the axial misalignment determines the dominant frequency of the operating equipment. The low-frequency vibration signal is amplified into the vibration displacement during the integration of the vibration velocity. At the end, it is suggested that the vibration velocity should be used to evaluate the vibration of the non-rotating parts of the low-speed equipment.
