Abstract: based the data of the electricity auction market of Easr China Power Grid, the factors impact on the selling electricity price, such as the power generation cost, the Benchmark Electricity Price, the relationship between supply and demand, and the potential market power, are sequenced according to their grey correlation coefficient. The results showed that the most influential factor is the power generation cost, then the Benchmark Electricity Price, the third is the relationship between supply and demand and the minimal impact is the potential market power. Further, the correlation coefficient between the electricity prices in different periods, as well as power generation bidding price and the above factors to be tested, they show the same relationship. All these results indicate that the market has the role of discovering cost and regulating supply and demand, and there is almost not the room for generation to exercise their potential market power.
