An Investigation of Key Strategies for Reliable Automatic Power Supply Transforming in the Distribution Ring Network

Abstract: Distribution network feeder automation, as an effective measure to improve the reliability of power supply, is an important part of the China’s “12th Five-Year Plan” on the construction of smart grid. Focusing on an analysis and research on the strategies of automatic power supply by transforming the local feeder automation devices which is applied universally in China, this paper points out the deficiencies in the design of the operation strategy and the dangers posed to the power system and its operation management. Furthermore, using the power grid of Zhongshan Power Supply Bureau as a typical example, a solution is proposed that devices of contact switch FA can be reformed on its operation technology for reliable automatic power supply transforming in the distribution ring network, which provides a new reference and selection for the study of the automation of distribution network feeders on its further application and development.
