Abstract: The inlet gas temperature of the gas turbine affects the turbine’s output power and its thermal efficiency, while the temperature control of the turbine is eventually realized through the inlet gas temperature control. In this paper, in consideration of the relationship between the inlet and exhaust gas temperatures, the exhaust gas temperature is measured to indirectly obtain the inlet gas temperature. The control logic is introduced to analyze the protections and control curves of the exhaust temperature. In addition, the impact of the external ambient conditions on the temperature control is studied, from which the adjustment instruction on the temperature control is presented based on practical operation data. The analysis indicates that in the gas turbines of PG9171E type, the accuracy of major measurement data and the changes of the ambient conditions have great effect on its temperature control.
