Abstract: It is very important for improving the power supply level to strengthen the management of the reactive power and power factor tariff for power users and to reduce the reactive power flow in the grid. On account of the prominent problems in power-factor regulating tariff in China, and based on the British experiences in reactive power charges, the paper analyzed the necessity for China to implement the reactive power charging mechanism and proposed relevant calculation methods and policy recommendations.
