Abstract: Most of the live detection data of switch cabinet are indirect state quantities, which can hardly reflect the partial discharge values of switch cabinet and may easily cause erroneous judgment of defects. Therefore, a defect simulation test device is set up based on a real switch cabinet. Firstly, it is used to simulate the needle plate discharge. Then, the characteristics of needle plate discharge are identified through comparing the results of such detecting methods as acoustic emission, transient earth voltages, ultra high frequency and pulse current, including typical images of live detection signal and the relationship with PD values. Finally, subsequent research techniques for this device is put forward.
