Abstract: The catalyst is the key material in SCR denitrification technology, which plays the indispensable role to realize NOx ultra-low emission. However, depending on the practical operation conditions and the coal quality, the attenuation law of the catalyst activity will deviate from the theoretical curve. In this paper, the chemical lifetime of the catalyst is predicted by applying a mathematical model. In combination with the actual cases, the efficiency of catalyst layers and the selection of the catalyst are studied. The results show that in the ultra-low emission modifications, the catalyst activity evaluation is very critical to the selection of the catalyst. It may affect the stable operation of the equipment and the cost of the investment.
