Abstract: In order to exploit the energy-saving potential of the power generating units, based on the analysis on the existing problems of the sliding pressure curves, the optimization test on sliding pressure operation at different unit loads and steam turbine governing valve opening is conducted, in which the correlation curves is obtained between the heat consumption rate, net coal consumption rate, main steam pressure and the unit load. According to the test results, the main steam pressure set values within different load ranges are re-analyzed and then determined. The governing valve opening is maintained at 45% to lower the throttling losses such that the units are operated at the optimal economic condition. Through the optimized adjustment of the sliding pressure operation curves, the net coal consumption rate is decreased averagely by 0.83 g/(kW?h), and the economic performance under low load conditions is improved, which means that the goal is achieved as expected.
