Abstract: At present, the AVC system of large-scale PV power plants is difficult to meet the needs of rapid control of voltage fluctuation due to its slow reactive power regulation speed and poor reliability. Therefore, a fast reactive power control system is designed based on GOOSE communication, and a time-sharing fast control method and an equal-margin reactive distribution strategy are proposed, and a fast reactive power controller is also developed. The test results show that the system has a reactive power control response time of less than 50 ms for the whole station, which can reduce or even replace the configuration of SVG, consequently saving the construction cost and land occupation for photovoltaic power plants.
