Energy Transition Path for Urban Areas under New-type Urbanization: A Case Study on Suzhou City Wuzhong District

Abstract: Urbanization is closely related to energy development. Based on a case study of Suzhou city Wuzhong district, the urbanization characteristics of Wuzhong district are analyzed from the aspects of history, geography, population and economical industry. Meanwhile, the district’s basic conditions, such as location situation, energy resources, energy consumption, energy technology utilization and ecological environment, are also analyzed. At last, the energy transition path for Wuzhong district is proposed from 7 dimensions, including social economic development, infrastructure, industrial structure, urban function & morphology, ecological environment, governance level and cultural concept.
