Abstract: The multi-model function was widely used to increase the utilization rate of simulation training system (STS). Based on the function the efficiency of STS in thermal power plant will be greatly improved, so it has become the essential function in thermal power unit training systems. The multi-model simulation system of domestic power plants was introduced. The structures of simulation systems in stimulation mode and traditional mode were analyzed, as well as the similarities and differences of multi-model functions between them. Relying on the stimulation mode simulation support system, which was based on virtual DCS, and was independently researched and developed, the real-time database was constructed. The database was used for the design of some sub-functions such as multi-model data management, simulation task scheduling and model control in the Windows platform. Finally an example of a triple model simulation system was realized.
