Abstract: It is very important for dispatching operation to obtain the accurate reserve capacity and the power load of transmission lines and transformers of the whole power grid. An evaluation system based on nonlinear function is proposed in this paper. Also, the reserve capacity, district reserve capacity, line and transformer capacity calculation methods are provided. Compared to the traditional linear evaluation methods, the proposed method caters for the time-varying and nonlinear characteristics of power system. Besides, the Shepard similarity interpolation algorithm is deployed to provide the total evaluation indices of the whole power system operation condition. The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed evaluation system are verified by a case study which is based on the practical operation condition in Jiangsu power grid.

Key words: reserve capacity, dispatching operation, nonlinear evaluation indices, Shepard similarity interpolation
