Abstract: In this paper some kinds of frequently used filter media for coal-fired boilers are introduced, together with the analysis on its structure and properties, to demonstrate the importance of mutual matching between the flue gas condition and filter media. Based on domestic coal situation, a series of experimental data and extensive engineering experience, the limitation of single filter media under different working conditions is illustrated, and then the adaptability of filter media to flue gas conditions is studied and analyzed to provide reference for reasonable selection of filter media. The paper also emphasizes on the PTFE based heat-resistant and anti-corrosion filter media to highlight the necessity of reasonable choice of filter media under poor working conditions. The development of those two filter media will accelerate the progress of the domestic electrostatic-fabric integrated precipitator and fabric filter technologies.
