Abstract: According to the current policy of distributed photovoltaic(PV) and energy storage development in China, the economic evaluations of the distributed PV system and PV-energy storage system (PV-ESS) are made with the suggestions for PV system development being put forward. Firstly, given the PV-ESS structure and its system operation mode, the economic model of PV-ESS is established. Then, based on the sunshine condition in Tianjin, the PV output power curve is obtained and the economies of distributed PV and PV-ESS are evaluated and compared under the tariff modes of flat rate tariff and time-of-day tariff for different customers with different load curves. The results show that the cost of PV system and energy storage system, the tariff mode and the load characteristics are the major factors that influence the economy of PV-ESS development for different customers. At last, the suggestions are given for PV and PV-ESS promotion and development from the aspects of cost reduction, time-of-day tariff implementation and user classification.
