Abstract: At present, the largest conductor applied on ±800 kV UHVDC transmission line is 6×900 mm2 ACSR. Base on analysis of preliminary stage investment and power loss, a life cycle economic comparison on 6×JL/G2A-900/75, 6×JL/G2A-1000/80, 6×JL/G2A-1120/90 conductor types is performed. It is verified that application of 6×JL/G2A-1000/80 and 6×JL/G2A-1120/90 conductor types in 800 kV UHVDC transmission lines has economic advantages when the number of annual power loss hours is relatively high.
