Abstract: Wind faults early warning and trip probability calculation has a positive significance for power system defending windage yaw flashover and transmission line outage. This paper presents a novel algorithm for calculating wind trip probability based on calculation model of windage yaw and g-h distribution model. Firstly, windage yaw angle and minimum air gap are computed according to the calculation model of windage yaw of insulator string. The linear relationship between minimum air gap and probability of windage yaw flashover is established. The calculation method for probability of transmission line outage under gale disaster is further proposed based on the g-h distribution model. Historical data of transmission lines in Anhui power grid verify the correctness and efficiency of proposed method. Establishing calculation model of windage yaw and gale distribution model are important to prevent gale outage.
